The importance of funeral cover

Over the years, funeral cover has proven to be a basic family necessity. The financial implications of planning a funeral are too much of a burden to carry. Don’t leave your loved ones with a mountain of funeral costs. Let us take that burden off your shoulders and provide your family with the comfort they need when it matters most.

Funeral Cover Benefits

Funeral Cover offers the following

Death is a topic no one wants to speak about. However, having a plan in place can go a long way for your family. In the event of your death, your loved ones will receive a financial lump sum to assist in paying for the funeral. Remember that planning a funeral is one thing, executing it a completely different task.
This is where your funeral insurance comes in handy. This hands-on assistance can help to point you to the most suitable service providers. Funeral insurance assistance is subject to the plan you take out.

Who can be covered by a funeral plan?

We will take you through the basic plans and cover options – here’s what you need to know:

The Standard Funeral Plan

This plan will pay out a cash lump sum to your family in the event of your death. Your family can use this money as they choose, which may be to pay for funeral expenses, or to cover additional expenses that arise.

The Extended Funeral Plan

This plan offers the same benefits mentioned above in the Standard Plan with the added benefit of receiving all your premiums back in cash. You can choose to cover yourself, your spouse, 3 children, and 8 extended family members, with family cover of up to R500,000.

Extended Family Cover

When it comes to your family, there shouldn’t be a limitation on whom you can take care of. With this plan, you can look after your extended family members by adding them to your plan. Should the nominated family member pass, a lump sum will be paid out once proof of death has been supplied.

No Waiting Period

It's no secret that some funeral policies come with a waiting period, which needs to take effect for you to be eligible for a pay-out. Although this clause typically applies to illnesses, that doesn’t remove the financial strain it bears on your loved ones. The accidental cover grants an immediate pay-out without a waiting period.

Types Of Cover Available

With the exception of the family cover options, some funeral plans require the applicant to meet certain conditions. For example, some funeral plans require you to undergo a medical exam, before the cover is granted.
